Tom Fuentes was an American political strategist and author who was born on August 27, 1948, in Long Beach, California. He grew up in Anaheim, California, and attended St. Boniface Catholic School and Servite High School. After completing his high school education, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970.

After leaving the military, Fuentes studied political science at California State University, Fullerton, and later became involved in Republican politics. He served as Executive Director of the California Republican Party from 1979 to 1984 and Chairman of the Orange County Republican Party from 1985 to 2004.

Fuentes was known for his conservative political views and his strong support of Ronald Reagan. He was a frequent commentator on politics and appeared on many national and local television programs.

Fuentes was also an author, who wrote two books, "The Last American CEO" and "A Republican Agenda for the 21st Century". He was awarded the prestigious Ronald Reagan Freedom Award in 2002, for his contribution to the conservative movement.

In 2008, Fuentes was diagnosed with cancer and he died on May 18, 2012, at the age of 63. His legacy continues to inspire many conservative political leaders in the United States today.
